Leading Black Gay Men’s Health Equity Forward
Advancing research, shaping policy, and empowering community action to secure health and dignity for Black gay men everywhere.

Who We Are
Our Mission
Black gay men’s health is at a crossroads. Decades of progress in HIV prevention, treatment, and whole-person health are under political and systemic threat. Valuing Our Lives is our national call to action — to protect gains, advance integrated care, and ensure that our lives are valued in every decision that affects us.
Our Goals:
-
Protect HIV prevention and care infrastructure for Black gay men.
-
Integrate HIV care with broader health priorities (cancer, cardiovascular, mental health).
-
Increase representation of Black gay men in research, policy, and leadership.
-
Build leadership capacity at the local, regional, and national level.

Why this Matters
Valuing lives means investing in them — through equitable funding, inclusive research, and policies that center those most impacted. This is not just an LGBTQ+ health issue; it is a civil rights, public health, and human dignity issue.
